Pocketstop text4cure                                               "One life lost is one life too many" - Tania Stutman GCRF

We all like to text. On any given day, millions of text messages are sent and received in the US. But, on October 23rd 2008 you have the chance to send a text message to combat cancer; a chance to send a text that could save a life. By sending a text message with keyword text4cure to short code (COMING SOON), you can pre-register to donate between $5 to $10 to fund cancer research programs. We will then send you a text message on the 23rd of October.  Simply reply to the text message and you will instantly donate money for cancer research. The donation will show up as an item on your cell phone bill.

Why October 23rd you ask? Well, it was on October 23rd when the founder of text 4 the cure, Brian Teague, found out that his best friend had contracted a rare form of cancer called GIST. As one of the founders of Pocketstop, Brian figured out a way to use his technology and experience in Mobile Marketing to benefit those plagued by the disease.

The statistics are clear. One in every three people in the United States will contract some form of cancer in their lives. Help us find the cure by donating on the 23rd of October. Together, we can make a difference.  This year's goal is 100,000 text message donations.  This will raise between $500,000 to $1,000,000 to fund cancer research programs. Text 2 Donate!!!
